Biomass Energy
TSM Group's renewable energy business involves steam and biomass energy generation from “bagasse” obtained from our sugar mills. It is used for generating steam and power in our plants and distributed to other companies within the TSM Group and the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) for further distribution to households and communities in provincial areas.
Biogas Energy
TSM Group's clean energy business helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by generating biogas (methane gas: CH4) from “spent wash,” which is the wastewater from ethanol production. The biogas is used to generate power, to be distributed to the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) for further distribution to households and communities in provincial areas. (1 ton of methane gas has the same climate impact as 28 tons of carbon dioxide.)
